Powder coating is a process of applying a dried, granular paint to a metal workpiece, and then curing it thermally in an oven. This causes the powder to form a protective shell which promotes corrosion resistance and also aesthetic value of the metal piece.

Powder coating is an excellent choice for a finishing touch on a metal part. Not only is it safe to handle, it is much better for the environment than regular paints. It doesn’t contain any harsh chemicals, and adheres through an electrical charge rather than solvents. No VOCs are used in the process, making the coating much safer for everyone involved.

It also offers a much more durable finish, as it’s resistant to chipping, scratching and fading, even in harsh conditions. Plus the coating increases the product’s durability overall without making it significantly heavier. They’re also easier to maintain and clean over time, and thanks to the durability of the coating, parts that are powder coated maintain their appearance for a longer period of time.

It’s an efficient, waste-reducing process, as extra powder or overspray can be collected and reused on future products. Overall, it’s an excellent and high value finish for many different metal products.
